Indications

Mineral electrolyte deficiencies or imbalances have been documented as contributing to the following conditions:

Cardiovascular Conditions:

  • Atherosclerosis

  • Arrhythmias

  • Atrial Fibrillation

  • Myocardial Infarctions

  • Angina Pectoris

  • Hypertension

  • Sudden Heart Death

But blood or serum tests do not provide a diagnostic solution. Exa Test™ is used to diagnose intracellular tissue electrolyte dysfunctions in the above and following conditions:

  • Osteoporosis

  • Calcium Metabolism

  • Leg and Muscle Cramps

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

  • Pre-Menstrual Tension

  • Sexual Dysfunction

  • Hormonal Imbalance

  • Migraines

  • Eclampsia

Exa Test™ is also used for the measurement of mineral electrolyte loss due to the following:

  • Immune System Disorders

  • Sports Induced Mineral Loss

  • Medication Related Mineral Loss (i.e. diuretics, digitalis)

  • Rapid Weight Loss

  • Diabetic Mineral Loss

  • Malnutrition

Exa Test™ Tissue analysis has proven to be an accurate, reproducible and  reliable diagnostic method for testing patients with disorders and symptoms not readily identified through blood tests. When essential tissue minerals and electrolytes are compromised blood tests often appear normal. This is specially the case with Magnesium and Potassium disorders. And, blood tests do not show the high levels of Calcium accumulating in the tissues nor the imbalances that can exist in essential mineral-electrolytes.

Exa Test™ was developed as an assay for difficult to detect intracellular mineral electrolyte deficiencies or imbalance.

Exa Test provides information not available through blood tests.

Through clinical practice and extensive research, this noninvasive test has proven to assist the healthcare provider in managing heart disease and other physiological dysfunctions where mineral electrolytes are compromised.

Exa results assist the healthcare provider in establishing treatment protocols that improve the patient's intracellular status, manage symptoms, improve stamina and quality of life.

Why Use Sublingual Cells ?

1.  Research has shown that sublingual epithelial cells correlate well with deep body tissues such as heart tissue taken during bypass surgery and skeletal muscle biopsies...taken from NASA volunteers.

2.  Epithelial cell analysis correlates with current total body mineral electrolyte status.

  • Exa Test™   is a high-tech, analytical scanning electron microscopy method, (ASEM,) with  computerized elemental X-ray analysis (EXA).

3.  Buccal cells have a high cytoplasm to nucleus structure facilitating mineral electrolyte analysis.

4.  Epithelial cells offer a rapidly renewing, homogeneous cell population which reflects very fast tissue changes and allows the physician to follow the patient's current metabolic physical status.

5. Buccal epithelial cells are easily accessible providing a non invasive specimen for use on specially prepared slides.

Note:

  • Blood and urine levels of minerals and ions DO NOT necessarily reflect what is Clinical practice and Peer Reviewed Published studies of the buccal cell smear, as developed by IntraCellular Diagnostics,  indicate high correlations between altered  mineral levels and pathophysiological conditions in the following body systems:

  CARDIAC        VASCULAR        SKELETAL     MUSCULAR        NERVOUS

  • Functions of the organelles, membranes and the cardiac muscle relate to intracellular changes which could contribute to coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and plaque deposition.
